As of today, finished two books equaling nearly 500 pages of non-academic paper text in my newfound free time. This would be more impressive if one wasn’t a book of quite funny extra-short stories and the another a lesser-known spy drama from a first rate mid-century mystery writer. BBC: Podcasts are more popular than ever →
jessethorn: And they only keep growing. You tell ‘em, Jesse! Unfortunately, that video is all over the place until they get to Radiolab, a radio show which is also happens to be podcasted. And real great use of Beethoven to emphasize the… institutional prestige of Bush House.

Wait Wait ...Don't Tell Me gets its own TV show! →
nprfreshair: analogplanets: I maybe find this entirely too exciting.  “Wait Wait” creator Doug Berman says it would be a typical show, “except NPR has to add a budget line for pants.” very awesome! [pics from Wait Wait in LA back in 2008] The best news so far today. Well, except for BBC America, rather than, say, PBS. But it means we’ve basically got a US version of The Big Fat...

Sofia — IndieGoGo My friend, the very talented young filmmaker Jean Claude Billmaier, is in the final 36 hours of funding for his newest short film, Sofia. It appears to be about a girl’s mysterious glowing box. I’m as curious as you are, of course. [IndieGoGo is pretty cool, a nice alternative to Kickstarter, where if the campaign doesn’t reach its goal, they simply pay...
